The Electrotechnical industry offers a training package to be proud of.
You'll receive a Modern Apprenticeship certificate with an SVQ Level 3 qualification at the end of it.
You'll need to go to college on block and day release in the first, second and third year but you'll come out of the training with a qualification that few others will be able to match and a real, future-proof career in front of you.
This year Inverness College has started 6 new girls on the SJIB Modern Apprenticeship Scheme as Electricians. All of these girls are now in the first year of the apprenticeship and are making very good progress and are enjoying the experiences both on site and at college. Marion McGovern is the SECTT Training Officer for the Highlands & Islands Region and has nothing but praise for all of the girls, "so far they are making good progress and have impressed both their employers and the staff at Inverness College". Lizzie Kenyon, also a qualified Electrician and now a Lecturer has inspired some of the girls and she is a good role model for them.
