Laura Kerschat: Employer - McDonald & Munro, Elgin.

Laura’s interest in the electrical trade came from working with her father on a few jobs prior to starting her apprenticeship. Having enjoyed school the College attendance has been really good. College staff show you how to do things, on site you do things but don’t really know how or why. Laura likes working alongside other trades and there is always something to do, so you’re not hanging around getting bored. Even though the hours at work seemed long at first she has overcome her initial nerves and apprehension and is enjoying her training and working on site immensely. She now has her eyes set on becoming an Approved Electrician and advises other girls to get some experience to make sure that you really want to start as an apprentice.
