Amy was interested in the electrical field but not sure how to pursue it. She had an appointment with Careers Scotland and all the staff were very helpful. “I did some research on the Internet and did some work for my Dad to help confirm my choice. I was lucky to get some interviews and a job soon after”.
Amy enjoyed school and did well. She went to university and studied for a degree in literary studies. After graduating she decided to follow her technical interests and become an electrician.
Having no previous work experience Amy was concerned about her interview for the apprenticeship, however it went very well and she now enjoys the variety of work and people she meets on the different sites. Attending College has given her a good grounding in the basic skills and she has enjoyed meeting others with similar interests. As far as the future is concerned Amy’s looking forward to completing her apprenticeship and working on some more interesting jobs.
